House clearance in Bruges

A house clearance in Bruges means one of two worlds: a narrow old house inside the city canals, with steep stairs and a street where a large truck may not park, or a family home with a garage in Sint-Andries or Assebroek. We clear both completely and hand them back broom-clean, at a fixed price set from your photos.

Recycling park: IVBO

IVBO runs the Bruges recycling parks in Sint-Pieters, Sint-Michiels and Zeebrugge. Since 1 January 2026 no appointment is needed; residents enter with their eID and part of the waste is paid by weight. Owners who do not live in Bruges need an IVBO access badge, which takes at least two working days.

Clearing an old house inside the Bruges canals

Inside the ring of canals, Bruges is a protected historic city of narrow brick houses, often centuries old, with winding stairs and attics under steep roofs. Large trucks are restricted in many streets, so the loading bay and the size of the vehicle are part of the plan before anything else.

Furniture that went up those stairs decades ago often has to come down in parts. We dismantle where needed and protect the old stairs and doorframes on the way out.

Family homes in Sint-Andries, Assebroek and Sint-Kruis

Outside the canals the housing is more recent: family homes with a garage, a garden and an attic, where access is simpler and the truck can usually stop on the drive. The volume tends to sit in the garage and the attic rather than in the living rooms.

Bruges also has many second homes and holiday flats owned by people who live elsewhere, in Belgium or abroad. Clearing one from a distance works by photos and a key handover; the apartment clearance page covers what to arrange with the building.

What does a house clearance in Bruges cost?

The guide prices are €250 to €600 for one full space and €900 to €2,500 for a whole home. An old house inside the canals with narrow stairs and a restricted street takes more time than a family home in Sint-Kruis with the truck at the door, and the price reflects that.

You receive a fixed price in advance from photos; the factors are on house clearance prices. The request for the loading bay is explained in the parking permit guide.
